About Us
Mind National
National Mind is the national headquarters of the Mind 'federation' and is the leading mental health charity in England and Wales. It works to create a better life for everyone with experience of mental distress through advancing the views and needs of people with mental health problems. This is normally done through research. It also challenges discrimination and promotes inclusion by influencing government policy through campaigning and education.
Local Mind Association (LMA)
In order for Mind to work effectively, most areas and towns have their own Local Mind Association or 'LMA' which is affiliated to National Mind. LMA's are independent of one another and also of National Mind and are charities in their own right with individual charity numbers.
Mind in Ealing and Hounslow is one of these and our services cover the boroughs of both Ealing and Hounslow.
All LMAs raise their own funding but can access small amounts for project work funding through National Mind. We can also go to them for advice on any matter.
We often direct service users to National Mind's website which has lots of useful and downloadable information leaflets. They also translate some of their information booklets into a range of community languages as well as having a helpline and an information line.
